Carefully Crafted: A Gorgeous Wedding Celebration At Fran's Chocolates In Georgetown
Grooms Ben Rock and Andy Carpenter wanted a day filled with things that would make them their happiest. They started with a favorite color palette—purple and green. From there, says Andy, “lavender and eucalyptus became the focus of all our arrangements.” The couple called on their friends, siblings, grandparents, parents and even nephews to help assemble the decor—the table arrangements, garlands and latticework—for the day. Most meaningful to the grooms, however, were the besom (used in a broom-jumping ceremony) and handfasting cords (a custom of binding a couple’s hands together to symbolize the union of two people), crafted by the couple out of birchwood and lavender.
Catering company Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes worked with the grooms to create a unique menu full of unexpected flavor combinations. The Tin Table created two signature cocktails: an Oaxacan old fashioned and a light and sweet Peachy Keen. And to top off the night, the grooms treated late-night revelers to popcorn in a trio of favorite flavors: sea salt, truffle and jalapeño.
