This week, the year’s best meeting of the minds occurred at Seattle Bride’s Best of Bride 2019 party. Representatives of the Puget Sound’s best and brightest bridal companies gathered to celebrate another year of weddings at the gorgeous Landing at Shilshole Bay, the first event at the venue since its recent remodel. Guests were greeted with flutes of sparkling rosé with raspberries and snapped panoramas of the stunning bay view from the patio. Throughout the space, seashells and dusty blue hues brought marine inspiration to the evening.

As wedding professionals recognized one another and stopped to say hello, a pleasant evening emerged in the midst of the busy season. Before the awards presentation began, guests had the chance to enjoy a handheld waffle or delicious passed seafood appetizers catered by the venue. Seating vignettes with sweet details from Vintage Ambiance provided resting spots to catch up and enjoy music from DJ Braden Landon.

Upstairs, bathed in light from the wall of windows overlooking the Sound, revelers chose from a selection of sweet treats from Seatown Sweets, including delicious “beach comber” cheesecake cups and starfish cookies. 321 Foto brought the fun with a selfie photo booth and props.

As the time for the awards ceremony arrived, the nominees gathered around the stage. The simple backdrop, built by Belles + Whistles, included pampas grass and rich florals and was set off by the ocean view backdrop. Seattle Bride Associate Publisher Hailey Grace Brumley took to the stage to introduce herself to her colleagues before the magazine’s editor, Megan Bartley, announced her editor’s picks—the creative products from the last year that deserved recognition.

When the time came, Bartley and Brumley announced the winner of each category, from Best Floral Designer, Gather Design Co., to Best Custom Dress Designer, Luly Yang, and more. DJ Braden Landon kept the energy high as the anticipation mounted for the night’s biggest award. The room erupted in cheers for Herban Feast, who went home with the win. Cake and Grey Events emerged as the year’s Best New Vendor, and The 101 won Best New Reception Site.

The night was full of camaraderie and good cheer, but ultimately it was a celebration of the hard work that Seattle’s wedding professionals put in each year to elevate the standard and make memories for couples celebrating love. The event also served as the release party for Seattle Bride’s Fall/Winter 2019 issue, which is bursting with resources for engaged couples to plan their perfect day and find all of the right vendors for their needs.
