Peter Kaskes and his wife, Leida purchased Hillcrest Bakery in 1965. He brought traditional recipes, & trade secrets that dated back to his family's bakery established in the 1730s. Dutch specialties like banquetstaaf, marzipan rolls, and taai taai, along with pies, breakfast and dessert pastries, wedding cakes, specialty fondant cakes and much more, have garnered loyal customers and rave reviews. Including Best Bakery in Evening Magazine's The Best of Western Washington 2009 and 2011 Washington Family Business Award. The second generation now owns Hillcrest Bakery.
