New Creations always offers a complimentary initial consultation.
How would you describe what you do?
I am in the people business coordinating weddings. My goal for my life and business is to have the people I come in contact with be blessed with our relationship. Wedding coordinating allows me to come into contact with many different people; from vendors, the couples' families,' and of course, the couple.
I am the liason between all of them, and it is my job to be able to help the couple hire the appropriate vendors, communicate the couples desires for their day, as well as to help the couple stay on budget.
I will always handle myself professionally and with grace under pressure to help create the day of my clients' dreams.
How long have you been in the business?
I was lucky enough to begin my wedding coordinating career on Oahu, Hawaii 5 years ago. Learning the industry there of destination weddings, multi-cultural weddings, and high-profile weddings, I have since moved my business back to my home; here in the great Pacific Northwest.
What is your philosophy on a wedding planners role in helping brides and grooms plan their wedding?
On average a couple will spend over 400 hours planning their wedding. This is extremely hard to do when generally both the bride and the groom have full time jobs, friends, families, holidays, etc to also juggle.
My job as a coordinator is to be as 'hands on' or 'hands off' as you want me to be. I am there to assist you with creating your vision for your wedding by recommending reputable vendors, appropriate venues, and most importantly, to do it all within your budget. Many times hiring a coordinator can actually save you money by avoiding pitfalls of hiring the wrong vendor to being able to get you a 'trade discount.'
I will be there with you every step of the way to share my thoughts and ideas, to be a head of reason, or a shoulder to cry on. You can trust me and my integrity knowing that I will put every ounce of my talents into creating a day that you and your family will be able to enjoy and look back on many years from now with memories that bring a smile to your face.
Do you offer packages? If so, please describe:
Complete Wedding Package
This is our signature planning service. Our wedding consultant will help you conceptualize, prepare and execute your event from start to finish; no details will be left out. This service guarantees to create a beautiful and flawless wedding through an inclusive, stress-free and fun planning process.
Day of Wedding Package
This service is created for brides who prefer handling most of the pre-planning, but are interested in hiring a professional wedding consultant to oversee their wedding day. Our wedding consultant will follow up with you about two months prior to your wedding, help you tie up any loose ends, finalize details with all your vendors, be the point of contact on the day of your wedding and allow you to truly enjoy your wedding day. Although we call it a “day of wedding coordination” service, our pre-planning and follow up done two months prior to your wedding definitely offers you more than you expect!
Ala Carte Option – Event Ambiance Design
Creative collaboration between our wedding consultant, client and selected vendors to discuss all visual elements of the wedding. These elements include but are not limited to, invitation and other print design, floor plan/rental, linen, specialty lighting and floral. Our wedding consultant will educate the client on new wedding trends, provide assistance in designing the entire look of the event and present the client with inspirational photographs, floral samples and linen swatches to help the client to visualize the ambiance of her wedding day.
What is your most popular package? Why?
Definitely the complete wedding package. This allows me to be present for questions and ideas from practically the engagement through their wedding day. During the planning process, the couple and I have a very close working relationship. Through the complete wedding package, the results are amazing! The couple enjoys a day that truly reflects their style and wishes.
How do you charge? What are your rates?
New Creations charges vary by package chosen, venue location and guest count. This allows the couple to have a very customized charge for their wedding. If a couple is having a small afternoon wedding at a hotel, they are not going to be charged the same as a couple planning a large, outdoor wedding on a relatives property, where all the rentals, etc have to be brought in and coordinated.
We also DO NOT have specific contracted vendors that we work with. We have chosen to do business this way because we want the couple to get exactly what they're looking for. Some vendors offer kick-backs to coordinators that refer them, or some coordinators that charge on a percentage of your wedding will only refer 'higher-end' vendors.
Working with you to only hire reputable vendors that you are comfortable with, within your budget is very important to me and my business.
Are you able to counsel couples on wedding etiquette?
Absolutely! Having been privileged to work with so many multi-cultural weddings from my experience in Hawaii and Seattle, I am able to assist with etiquette on many different levels.
Do you offer any special services?
Most definitely! New Creations prides itself on the unique ability to bridge the gap for destination couples. Still maintaining strong ties to the Hawaiian Islands; I am able to offer Seattle-based couples looking for a destination wedding in Hawaii, a local- Seattle-based coordinator who knows the industry, and can coordinate their dream wedding in Hawaii.
Likewise for couples from Hawaii looking to have a destination wedding taking advantage of the backdrop of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I am able to provide them with coordination that is sensitive to the unique challenges of hosting a destination wedding.
New Creations' owner and wedding coordinator, Rebecca Bradley, can also assist with hearing impaired weddings, as she is proficient in ASL.
Is there anything else that you'd like me to know?
I am passionate about what I do. I love being able to work with couples and getting to know them during this time in their lives. My goal is to guide them every step of the way through what could be a stressful time in their lives to making it one of joyful memories.
