The Willows Inn

The Willows Inn is a small historic inn located above the waters of Rosario Strait, on Lummi Island. The emphasis of this 10-room inn is on quality, organic, farm-to-table dining amid exceptional marine views in a casually elegant environment. It is the perfect place for weddings of fewer than 100 guests.

Our inn has accommodations for up to 24 guests, including two suites at our nearby Nettles Farm, with a total of 12 beds. We require booking of all rooms for at least 2 nights for each wedding. Breakfasts are included for all of our guests, and we have a hot tub and massage facilities. The ceremony is generally held on the premises, or on the beach. The Willows Inn specializes in small weddings, fewer than 30 people, any time of the year.

A wedding at the Willows Inn is similar to a European villa wedding, where a select group of family and friends get to enjoy each other before and after the wedding, yet have enough private space to take needed breaks and have time alone. Our Taproot Cafe serves beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as lunch fare, so that guests do not have to leave the premises. The reception area is large enough to seat 40 or so for a plated dinner, and 100 for a buffet.

Ceremony sites include one near the cottage, one on the beach, and indoors in case of rain. The small community church is available as well, just two miles from the Inn. Most guests are surprised and impressed by the venue, and the service we provide. It is an affordable alternative to exotic locations that require long travel times, providing a San Juan Islands experience at a fraction of the cost.

Small weddings are appropriate at the Willows Inn any time of the year, as we can be flexible with the weather. Large weddings are best May through September. We also offer our guests a list of recommended music performers, officiates and photographers.

Couples have been married here since the early 1900s, and have been able to return to relive the memory many years later. It offers couples a wonderful place for anniversaries, such as the 60th wedding anniversary party that was celebrated here recently!

• Plated dinners range from $50 per person, and buffet from $45.
• Rental of all rooms is $1725 per night, with a two-night minimum.
• We require that we cater each event and have an additional cake cutting fee.
• There is no closing time for the reception.
• There is enough parking for overnight guests, but we encourage car-pooling for the reception.
• We have a good stereo system, suitable for iPod hookup.
