We love these new Seattle-based websites that feature one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting Seattle artists and businesses.
- CAROLKIPLING.COM What we love about it: Now living in Magnolia, this Hollywood interior designer to stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Meg Ryan has taken her L.A. brick-and-mortar online. The registry portion of the site was in the works at press time. Carol Kipling's new online shop sells handcrafted home décor pieces that make great wedding gifts, with many items made by Seattle artists, such as the Light Dreams Plum Throw by Siiri Bennett and the Wooly Thistle Glass Platter by Shaun O'Neil. Our gift pick: Small wrapped glass vessel (left) by Merrilee Moore, $42
- SOUNDTRADINGCO.COM What we love about it: New Ravenna-based Sound Trading Co. features environmentally friendly gifts by local artists, businesses and nonprofits. We love the gift registry full of recycled glass tableware and custom-made art. Our gift pick: Bright Stick Mirror (center), $65
- STEMANDPLATE.COM What we love about it: When Linnea Fichter got married here a few years ago, she didn't love the options in Seattle and wanted to register for plates from Sweden. It was too difficult; thus, the idea for Stem and Plate was born. She just launched her registry site, offering everyday dishes from Europe. Choose your pieces online, mixing and matching-and get everything delivered at once from her Renton warehouse, after the wedding. Our gift pick: Rörstrand "Kurbitz" coffee cup (right) and saucer, $32
