Lauren Furgason & Kayler Body

Married and celebrated: Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo

Date: August 27, 2016

THE COUPLE: After meeting at a birthday party while attending the University of Washington, Lauren Furgason and Kayler Body’s first date was to his company holiday party. “It was kind of an odd spot for a first date,” says Lauren, a creative consultant/inventor. “But it didn’t even matter where we were; we had the best time.” After a move to New York City and seven years of dating, Kayler (who works in finance for Morgan Stanley) proposed under a willow tree in Central Park.

RUSTIC ROMANCE: The couple wanted an iconic Northwest feeling in their wedding venue and found it almost immediately in Kiana Lodge. The pair fittingly recited their vows under the lodge’s weeping willow tree before enjoying an extended cocktail hour with their guests, who explored the picturesque property, sipped on frozen rosé cocktails and wrote notes to the pair on a vintage typewriter. The Craig Lawrence Band got the tunes going during the reception in the atrium, and after dining on salmon and steak, guests were treated to desserts crafted from treasured family recipes. The party went late into the night with s’mores around the fire pit, cigars and a late-night hot dog snack.
