THE COUPLE: A shared love of the outdoors brought startup founder Julie Schoenfeld and writer Chris Parker together. After a few adventures, which included rock climbing, the couple, who first met while working for the same Colorado-based climbing magazine, quickly began spending more time together until soon, “Chris fell in love with my dog, and then me, and we decided we wanted to spend our lives together,” Julie says. The pair got engaged in May 2015, and with the help of wedding planner Solomon Events, created an intimate, music-filled ceremony at the home of Julie’s mother.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS: Julie and Chris once again turned to nature while creating the look and feel of their outdoor wedding. “I loved the chuppah [wedding canopy] because it was created from live grapevines that grow and intertwine, just like our relationship,” Julie reminisces. The bride’s attention-grabbing magnolia flower bouquet was chosen as a nod to Chris’ home state of Mississippi. Soft white lighting and decor provided a clean, crisp feel as guests enjoyed light refreshments and live music from the band The Source throughout the reception.
