Beloved Seattle wedding officiant, Mary Calhoun, passed away in July 2019.

The Seattle wedding community was greatly saddened over the summer to hear of the passing of Reverend Mary Calhoun, a longtime wedding officiant and friend to many. Mary was the author of The Distinctive Wedding Ceremony. She also ran a devotions course for engaged couples.

Mary was born in Ephrata, Wash. and lived in Shoreline with her husband. She was Seattle Bride's best officiant from 2010-2019, and was renowned for her personalized wedding ceremonies and the care she took to get to know each couple she worked with. Her talent and friendship will be missed by all.

There will be an industry memorial on October 13 at Sodo Park. Attendees should wear festive or brightly colored attire, in the spirit of Mary. To volunteer at the memorial, please contact reeser@herbanfeast.com
