Seth and Carlie were brought together by a mutual friend at a summer barbeque, he wasn’t aware he was being set up but she was. Seth likes to tell the story that when he saw his bride walking up his jaw hit the floor and he was hooked. After an awkward evening where he hardly said a word they found themselves brought together again the following weekend for a camping trip with friends. Seth worked it out that everyone else’s cars were “full” so Carlie had to ride with him. Needless to say once alone in the car conversation came easy and they hit it off. Since then they were inseparable and fell for each other fast. A little over a year after meeting they welcomed a sweet baby girl into the world and became a family.
Fast forward a few years to Christmas morning and the magic of watching their toddler open her presents was unfolding. When all but one present was opened Seth dropped down to one knee and asked Carlie to marry him...she said YES.
Their love story has been unconventional from the start so it only seemed natural that their wedding would follow suit. They opted for a small intimate celebration with thirty of their closest family and friends. The Corson Building with its whimsical garden and unlikely location under the freeway seemed like the perfect place to make it official. They jokingly referred to their wedding as the “anti-wedding” during the four months they spent planning. The wedding party consisted solely of their four year old daughter Finley as the flower girl. The bride was accompanied down the aisle by both her parents to the Beatles “Black Bird” played by the grooms’ father. The couple simply wanted to throw a really great dinner party with delicious food and drink where they could enjoy the evening under the gardens canopy and twinkling string lights. They wined and dined their guests with a seven course farm to table meal and specialty cocktails while listening to a playlist curated by the groom as a surprise to the bride. The historic building was accented with lots of greenery and naturally arranged flowers with pops of orange and pink. The goal was for everything to feel natural and romantic with soft candlelight and tables full of bud vases. The bride’s bouquet was oversize and hand tied with silk ribbon for a bohemian and effortless vibe. When signing their marriage license their daughter wanted in on the action and signed too - it was a really sweet moment for them as a family. Guests toasted the couple under the stars and enjoyed a spread of fresh berries and the groom’s favorite chocolate peanut butter cake.
