Art Deco Wedding at the Weyerhaeuser Estate in Tacoma

Megan Coughlin and Matt Shepardson host an Art Deco themed affair

Although the Art Deco theme is one that's stuck around for a while, it never gets old. Classic attire and a sophisticated ambiance always seem to pair perfectly with the joyful celebration of a couple saying "I do". This next wedding, planned and designed by Blue Ribbon Catering at their Weyerhaeuser Estate venue,  is dripping with gilded vintage details in an understated, elegant kind of way. It has all the right pieces - a vivacious bride in a slender satin gown and beaded headpiece, a dapper groom in his Army dress blues, a bridesmaid in a stunning flapper-esque dress, bundles of beautiful blooms and a delciously themed wedding cake. And how adorable are those boxer escort cards!?

From Wallflower Photo:

"Weyerhaeuser Estate was a beautiful setting for a wedding complete with gold ivy on the coffered ceiling and wood-paneled walls. This historic mansion was built in the 1920s and fit perfectly with the couple’s Art Deco style, which was well-executed throughout the wedding decor. Even the lighting had a gilded golden glow to it. Plus, there's something about a groom in his Army officer’s dress uniform that is so timeless.

During the ceremony, the best man assisted in a handfasting tradition, with each ribbon color meaning something specific. The boxer-shaped table assignment cards were a personal touch and were in honor of the couple’s dog, who was also in attendance, and as a nod to the bride's dog-walking business."
