Colorful Puyallup Fair Wedding

There isn't much that says "summer fun" more than the fair -- the colors, the rides, the cotton candy (the fried dough, the scones, the ice cream...ehm) and the smiling faces. Aside from the games and good times, there's an air of romance that floats around the fairgrounds, bringing with it memories of young love. Let's be honest, some of our favorite big screen couples found love at the fair: Noah and Allie, Sandy and Danny...need we say more? These love stories for the ages are exactly why we think Lindsay and Damien got it right when they decided to say "I do" at the Puyallup Fair. Something Minted was on hand to capture the day, coordinated by PlanningSavvy, in all of its brilliantly rustic homespun glory.

From Something Minted Photography:

"What I love most about this wedding is the rustic charm in every detail. This Puyallup wedding was full of DIY touches including homemade honey from Lindsay's father's bees, homemade wine favors, homegrown flowers, a wheat inspired cake topper to represent the place the bride and groom fell in love (Pullman, WA) and plenty of WSU Cougar memorabilia! All of the "rustic" farm equipment and decorations were antiques from the bride’s great-grandfather including the old family work bench that served as the altar.

When I asked bride Lindsay about the inspiration behind wedding, she said, “We were going for rustic, casual and fun. I grew up on a very small farm in the middle of Puyallup, (a dozen chickens, a few sheep, and a couple garden beds) and have always been attracted to the beauty of old barns and farm equipment. We wanted a fun, outdoor theme that went along with the fair, which we both loved."
