Debra & Jon

August 12, 2011 at The Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland

Lucky in love, Kirkland couple Debra Ragatz and Jon Horowitz exchanged custom rings with heirloom jewels before lifelong friends and family in a traditional Jewish ceremony on a spectacularly sunny August day at Kirkland’s Woodmark Hotel. Jon first spotted Debra when her new photography studio, Brand New Soul Photography, opened in his Kirkland office building in 2008. He made his move, love bloomed, and he eventually orchestrated a romantic proposal at Hotel Max in downtown Seattle. Inspired by the new floral “Toulouse” linen from Choice Linens, Debra and wedding planner Jacky Grotle from Event Success coordinated the colors and flowers to match the cupcakes and décor, enlisting Aria Style to design patio seating for the cocktail hour and an abundant buffet of salmon, steak and fresh vegetables. Besides the visual and gastronomic splendor, the couple will forever cherish the deeply spiritual moment in which the rabbi broke into song, as well as their first peaceful moments alone together overlooking Lake Washington, honoring the Jewish tradition of yichud.
