Elegant Outdoor Bainbridge Island Wedding

Lauren & Greg marry on Bainbridge Island

This summer wedding by Angela & Evan Photography is the perfect mix between a backyard family gathering and the sophisticated outdoor affairs you see in the English countryside. With taupes (love those lace bridesmaid dresses!), blushes, and bountiful garden-esque florals, this is one Bainbridge Island wedding that leaves our hearts pitter-pattering for warm summer days and cool, clear nights. And talk about some seriously noteworthy details...an elegant boat chartered by the groom as a surprise for his bride, an amazing end-of-evening fireworks display, and yes, you saw correctly...that is Conan O’Brien toasting the couple.

From Angela of Angela & Evan Photography:

"She's from Canada and he's from Washington, but they met on a dance floor in Mexico when she asked to borrow his blue sunglasses. They were married at "granny's" house on Bainbridge Island, a gorgeous old home filled with family treasures. Blue sunglasses were provided for guests in honor of how the couple met. The groom surprised Lauren with a boat trip to their reception site, Kiana Lodge, along with their wedding party. Conan O'Brien married into the Powell family and he was their MC for the night...much to everyone's delight. His kids were also the ring bearer and flower girl. The families are all very close and were honored throughout the evening. Generations of wedding dresses along with photos were hung as a tribute to their relationships. Lauren also wore a veil that's been in the Powell family for over 200 years as a shawl in honor of his rich family history. To play on their Canadian/American heritage, flags from each country decorated the lawn games and cake toppers. Homemade beer was given to guests as favors. The night was capped with an amazing surprise fireworks show for all their guests."
