Glamorous Bengali-Indian Wedding

Maryam and Faraz say "I do" at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club

Every now and then a wedding crosses our desks that is so beautiful and unique we can't get it out of our heads. This is one of those weddings. The traditional Bengali-Indian garb on both the bride and groom, as well as the bridesmaids, is jaw-droppingly gorgeous - the colors, the jewelry...that beading! The bride had dreamed of creating an affair full of glitz and glam evocative of the Bollywood movies she remembers from her childhood, and we'd say she did just that. The couple chose to incorporate some modern elements like a first dance, a bouquet toss and the inclusion of a wedding party to truly personalize the day.  Lucky for us, Meredith McKee Photography was on hand to capture each and every stunning detail...

From Meredith McKee Photography:

"Maryam and Faraz celebrated an elaborate traditional Indian wedding at the gorgeous Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club this past fall. To say Maryam's gown was gorgeous would be an understatement. It was pounds and pounds of custom designed silk and jewels that hung gracefully on her hips as she sashayed across the dance floor throughout the night. The bridesmaids wore red complimented by the groomsmen's ties and everything glittered with hints of gold. The day was a fabulous celebration!"

From the bride:

"Ever since I started watching Bollywood movies as a little girl, I knew I wanted a traditional Bengali-Indian wedding full of color with all the glitz and glam. And as I grew older, I also wanted my wedding to have a modern twist, such as having a first dance, throwing the bouquet, bridesmaids, and so on. My inspiration came from my love of everything coral and glitter. I used these two as my foundation for the clothes, stage, and décor. In the end, I truly felt like this was the wedding that I had dreamed all my life and it wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful support of my family, friends and, of course, my loving husband!

My favorite moment of our three-day wedding was definitely our first look on the wedding day. Knowing that we were only a few hours away from getting married was an indescribable feeling. The picture that Meredith took of my husband’s first look was priceless and something I’ll cherish forever!"
