Jessica & David
When Jessica Kendrick moved to Seattle in 2005 to attend grad school, friend of a friend David Schulte made sure she received a proper introduction to her new hometown, spiriting her around town and the nearby mountains. The duo hit it off, and after a random Tuesday night proposal in 2009, introduced more Midwesterners to the Emerald City as family and friends gathered for their 4th of July weekend wedding. On July 2, planner Erin Lindeman of Lindeman Weddings and Events helped the pair throw a self-described “Cirque de Schulte” circus-themed bash after the church ceremony, parading their guests from the cocktail hour on the pier at the Seattle Aquarium to the Edgewater Hotel reception. A brass band struck up a tune, guests toted pinwheels and waved streamers as ring bearers held a custom-made “Here Comes the Bride” sign. The party wrapped up with sentimental speeches, offset by a hilarious dance-off between groomsmen. David, a marketer for Boeing, and Jessica, who works in special education, live in Pioneer Square.
