Katie & Jason
Sept. 11, 2010, at Cave B Inn at SageCliffe in Quincy
Katie Kendall, 30, and Jason Pedwell, 31, first crossed paths at Chemistry.com. "We had our first date on August 31, 2008, and never looked back!" laughs Katie. About a year later, without so much as a formal engagement, forward-thinking event planner Katie booked Cave B for their wedding. Luckily, soon after, Jason got down on one knee and "officially" asked Katie to be his bride. "I'd planned my wedding over and over in my mind, and each time it looked different," said Katie, "But once I found Jason, the vision became clear." Using the bride's experience, they put together a "vintage Gatsby vineyard" themed wedding. To create a garden-party atmosphere, the reception featured long tables with tapers, votives and cut-crystal flower vases from The Petal and The Stem. Adding to the look, Cave B strung café lights around the lawn. Guests enjoyed French jazz during the cocktail hour, while sipping signature cocktails, and danced to the couple's eclectic playlist, spun by Nate Riley of Destiny Wedding DJs. Jason, who works for a legal research firm, and Katie live in Sammamish.
Favorite moment: "During the ceremony Katie's aunt and uncle shared some words of wisdom with us," says the groom. "They told us that, from that day on, we were our own family. It really resonated with me."
