Even though Kerry Price and Mike Duffy knew each other in college, it wasn’t until many years later when Mike recognized her on that they decided to take a second chance at love. Both Kerry and Mike were widowed and raising small children when they soon realized that they were ready to move from former classmates to life partners. Mike proposed last December as they were Christmas shopping in downtown Seattle and less than a year later, the couple was getting hitched at Farm Kitchen in Poulsbo. For Kerry, whose daughter, Taylor, is 7, and Mike, who has twin 9-year-old boys, Jack and Owen, the wedding was a celebration of family—out of 160 guests, 50 were children! The couple’s own kids acted as attendants and stood with Kerry and Mike as they exchanged vows. To keep the little ones entertained, there was bocce ball, croquet, Frisbee and a kids’ buffet. While the kids noshed on grilled chicken skewers, pasta and fruit, adults enjoyed a fresh, summer dinner from Ravishing Radish Catering, which included lemon orzo salad and salmon with heirloom tomato basil vinaigrette. Dessert was strawberry shortcake and a bar of cupcakes from Cupcake Royale. Honeymoon plans are on hold while they focus on remodeling their Laurelhurst house into a home for their new family.
