Lauren & Bryan

July 23, 2011 at the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend

Sparks have flown more than once for Lauren Portman and Bryan Crockett, first when they met at a Fourth of July barbecue in 2009, and then when a tall ship spontaneously set off cannons in the marina near the Northwest Maritime Center the moment Bryan kissed his bride on their wedding day. The Green Lake couple hosted 120 friends and family members, who came from all over the world, including Alaska and Australia, for a glittery party full of sea greens and sky blues, organic food, cupcakes and nods to Brian’s love of baseball (he sported Cubs cufflinks, and guests munched on Cracker Jacks). Family was at the heart of their travel-themed celebration, both choosing their mothers to witness and sign the marriage certificate just after the ceremony. The bride and groom watched their guests from a balcony after the ceremony, before kicking off a reception full of dancing and Lauren’s favorite mini grilled cheese sandwiches served as a late-night snack.
