Maria & Carl

Oct. 8, 2011 with a ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue and reception at Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle

Not every first date is a home run: Maria Kaminski never even took off her coat during her first date with Carl Fulton. But after a month of hilarious texts from her suitor, she gave Carl another chance with date number two, which included pizza and a bottle of wine on the Kirkland waterfront. By their third date, she knew he was the one. Eight months later, on Christmas morning 2010, Carl proposed on bended knee in Maria’s childhood bedroom at her parents’ Wisconsin home. Maria, a retail buyer, set the tone for their energetic fall wedding with a neutral palette that included blush, peach and ivory bouquets by Bella Rugosa and splashes of gray feathers, while Carl, a health care consultant, tracked down violinist Pasquale Santos, who serenaded them on their first date, to keep the pop jams rolling through the cocktail and dinner hours. After the ceremony, the couple escaped in a Rolls-Royce Phantom to Lake Washington, champagne in hand, to soak it all up and spend a moment alone. Speeding to Hotel 1000 for the reception, the downtown-based duo packed their nightclub-themed reception with good friends, drinks, dancing, and a few mustache and lip props for photo ops.
