Mimi & Matt

Sept. 5, 2010 at Robinswood House in Bellevue

When Mimi, a wellness professional, moved to Seattle in 2008, she was just looking to meet new people and have fun. She got that—plus her Prince Charming—after she bumped into Matt, a merchandise manager for Nordstrom, at a mutual friend’s birthday party. He wooed her, and two years later proposed by serenading Mimi to the tune of Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old with You” from the film The Wedding Singer (personalized to their relationship). Mimi handmade many of the romantic details for their September wedding, which was flush with floral prints and pastels in yellows, pinks and green. Vintage books were layered along with cascading flowers on reception tables, and the bridesmaids made their own bouquets and the men’s boutonnieres. The pair, both 31, now lives in Wallingford.

Favorite moment:
“The best moment of the day was when we released doves during the ceremony,” says Mimi. “The doves joined and flew off together.… For us the doves represented love, purity, peace and the union of our love.”
