Traditional SoDo Park Wedding with a Modern Twist

The general idea behind a traditionally-styled wedding is that it will stand the test of time, but that doesn't mean the details have to be subtle or the decor needs to be buttoned-up. This next wedding, designed by Valley & Co. along with a bevy of talented Seattle vendors (see below), does traditional with a twist. Add pops of brilliant pink, a smattering of sparkly details and a cool urban venue and you've got yourself the makings of a timelessly modern affair. One of our favorite details? Definitely the hanging escort card display.

From Valley & Co.:

"Weddings brimming with glittering bridesmaids' dresses, ruffled garden roses, tuxedos, and sparklers are so magical, so timeless.

Anytime a couple comes to us with a desire to plan a classic wedding with modern flourishes, our hearts go aflutter. Sarah and Brian's classic Seattle wedding was just that and then some. They had a vision for a wedding that they could look back on years from now and many elements would still be cherished. Their quintessential cathedral ceremony, nods to their parents and grandparents displaying their beloved wedding photos, and more unexpected touches like an old cannery-style building for the reception and the abundant green garlands and ribbon fluttering over the dance floor were just a few of those elements.

When planning the details, we focused on elegant elements like glass beaded chargers and calligraphy and gorgeously decadent linens, along with a towering icy blue cake, a "living" wall escort card installation, and fresh succulent take-home favors. It truly was a study in cohesion of old and new."
