Upbeat Urban Wedding at Melrose Market

Brian + Marion say "I do" in an urban setting

Do you ever catch yourself smiling while looking at people smiling in photos? That's exactly what happened here when Kelly Stonelake Photography sent this Melrose Market wedding my way. The bride, groom and their friends and family sport a contagious happiness that makes you feel like you're right there kicking your heels up along with them. The black and white color palette lends a modern edge to this Capitol Hill affair while the city itself sets the tone. At first glance it's swanky and sophisticated but at the same time invites a laid-back, let-loose atmosphere. This wedding is like a relaxed family celebration with a side of fancy, which I'd say captures the essence of Seattle quite well. Oh, did we mention the groom is the lead singer for the Seattle-based band Barcelona? That's pretty cool too.

From the bride and groom:

"We grew up miles from each other, but it wasn't until many years later when we bumped into each other in a local grocery store that our story began. Weeks of talking grew into weeks of spending time together. Soon, we were taking trips and visiting each other's families around the world. Brian proposed in one of our favorite cities (Portland) and before we knew it, we were planning our wedding.

We love all of Seattle's old buildings, especially the Capitol Hill neighborhood. When we found out that Melrose Market had opened an event space, we jumped on it right away. We wanted to keep our wedding casual, romantic, simple and especially fun for our friends and families. Everyone involved helped us execute our vision perfectly. From the food to the photos, everything came together so that we could focus on each other and enjoy these memories forever."
