Molly Mesnick’s wedding was televised this past March, and 8.9 million Americans watched. She knew she’d need to be in the best shape of her life.

“I have always called myself ‘skinny-fat,’” says Molly, who married The Bachelor Jason Mesnick at a beachside resort in Los Angeles February 27 on The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding. “I was a couch potato who was soft. On The Bachelor, I’d be sitting by the pool having a cocktail and pizza while the other girls were running up and down the hills.”

With a few months before her wedding left, she decided to begin exercising. Molly enlisted Elite Fitness Training in Bellevue, near the couple’s Kirkland home, to help. She went from 21.7 percent to 14.9 percent body fat, and now has more defined muscles in her arms and abs. And we think she looked great in her Monique Lhuillier dress.

“I started exercising because I wanted to tone up,” Molly says. “Three months later, I can look at my body and be proud. I am not the type of person who has good self-control, but if you set your mind to something, results will come.”

Of course, not everyone has Molly’s body. In fact, most brides come to trainers wanting to lose 20 pounds. If this sounds familiar, then this story is for you.

Elite’s president, personal trainer Dave Johnson, and three other local trainers share their secrets for getting in shape, losing weight and—most importantly—staying healthy.
