Looking for an inspiration piece that would blend both whimsical and contemporary details into a unified design concept, Daniela Isabella Ferdico Fagét happened upon a gray and pear-green swatch of fabric, and fell in love. In her textile of choice, bold tones and geometric patterns balance cheerful neutrals and organic details. “I wanted to combine two separate styles using this modern color palette, emulating the union of two separate people,” says the founder of SoDo-based Bella Signature Design, a wedding design company. Subtle nods to nature and clean-lined elements distinguish this design, where classic details are juxtaposed with the less traditional. Fagét notes, “It’s from the most contradictory relationships that beauty grows.”

A crisp napkin softens the lines of the square plates and slate tile charger from Bella Signature Design. Plate, $5, Charger rental, $3.

The crackled pear-green quartz of this handmade necklace, from the Bainbridge Island boutique Ginger, marries well with more traditional wedding apparel; its nature-inspired hue adds unexpected interest. $84.

Inspired by the lush array of shape, texture and organic undertones in her fabric swatch, Ferdico Fagét combined green tea roses, gray succulents, dusty miller, hellebores, Brazilia berries and New Zealand flax for a traditional-marries-modern bouquet. Stems were wrapped with double-sided French satin ribbon and embellished with an antique Swarovski crystal button. $275.

Sonal Pardeshi, founder of Chocolaz Artisan Cakes in Redmond, custom-cut white chocolate fondant appliqués to replicate Ferdico Fagét’s “inspiration fabric.” Fresh additions, such as the cake stand Ferdico Fagét crafted using Kermit mums, give an unexpected twist to this mocha Jamaican rum spice cake with hazelnut-crunch cream. Kermit mum cake stand, $150; cake, $9 per slice.

Radiant geometric patterns paired with a classic font give this invitation a contemporary-meets-vintage appeal. Designed by Tara Bliven of Redmond-based Ephemera, the cards are printed on 100 percent–cotton paper using letterpress. Ferdico Fagét mounted them on galvanized steel for added modern contrast. $11 to $13 each, including reply card and envelopes.

“Make sure to have at least one focal piece—an element that makes other details seem more luxurious,” Ferdico Fagét says. To add opulence, she custom-crafted this chandelier shade meant to hang over the head table, using dupioni silk, Brazilia berries and cymbidium orchids. Hand-pleating adds warmth to the cool slate-gray hue. $200 to $400.
