Guest Books: Thumbs Up
Ideas & Inspiration
Instead of a line-by-line signed album collecting dust on a shelf, Seattle couple Josie Gapp, a preschool teacher, and Nick Wahl, an electrician by day/artist by night, created a guestbook to lovingly showcase after their vintage-laced, DIY celebration on June 25, 2011 at the Farm Kitchen in Poulsbo. After spotting similar thumbprint guest books online, the artistic groom created his own take, hand-drawing a charming, intricate tree in striking pencil. The 2-by-3-foot keepsake print, decorated with ink thumbprint “leaves” by family and friends, now hangs in the living room of the couple’s Magnolia home in a frame made of vintage barn wood. (Insider tip: Northwest company Say Anything Design can customize a similar guestbook tree design for your day.)
