Jurassic Wedding
Planning Tips
Hear the words “themed wedding” and images of brides wearing Vulcan ears may well come to mind. But designing a wedding around your favorite movie needn’t elicit groans, as this wedding inspired by Jurassic Park—the couple’s favorite flick—clearly proves. Erin Lindeman of Kirkland’s Lindeman Wedding & Events helped Natalie Mills and Ryan Joy narrow down a theme and then devised artful and elegant ways of interpreting it. Lindeman worked with Bothell-based Paper Fling to create graphic dino-themed table tents and name cards (below, top). “They were not ‘wedding flower’ people, so I crafted organic bouquets of rich, earthy greens with a bit of freesia,” Erin says. Prehistoric-looking monstera leaf place mats utilized an ongoing motif of large leaves, complemented here with bamboo utensils.
