Creating a cool cocktail space where guests can sit in a swanky environment and have a drink, just as they would at an upscale nightclub, is becoming a must-have. Mod couches, sleek accessories and perfect lighting lend just the right look and encourage guests to relax and chat. Vanessa Vaughan, event specialist at Capitol Hill’s Pravda Events, began offering the lounge rental option (above right) a year ago. Vanessa says nearly every bride requests the trendy seating arrangement, ideal for any wedding, but especially for cocktail receptions rather than seated dinners. Jessie and Cory Côté, whose wedding was at Pravda, say the lounge was perfectly tailored to guests, who were mostly comprised of their friends. “The lounge was a chill space between all the dancing,” Jessie says, “and I love that I caught a few adorable private moments between guests as the sun set over the city.”
