Reception Decor: Vintage Cache
Ideas & Inspiration
If that perfectly distressed, mint green table you envisioned for the reception dessert buffet has deftly eluded your (increasingly frantic) search, stand down. To your rescue: Two local event rental companies that have set up shop this past year to share antique furniture and props with Northwest brides looking for day-of décor. Vintage Ambiance’s Beckie McCann, who also helps curate the furniture selection at Greenwood’s Antika, has more than 300 pieces in her new Eastside showroom, ranging from her favorite pink “Paris apartment” couch ($125/day) to antique fruit crates ($10/day). After starting Bow Tie & Bustle Event Design last year out of her Phinney Ridge home, Jenn Blake is also employing her scouting talents to Scout Vintage Rental Company. For $125/hour, Blake can design an entire celebration or just decorate for the day of, often juxtaposing bold colors with vintage pieces, including überpopular apothecary jars in every size and shape. Both thrifters will also hunt down specific vintage wants on request, offering pickup and delivery services for an extra fee. Others are following suit: Aria Style recently expanded its showroom arsenal to include antique furniture, and eco-friendly NuBe Green (921 E Pine St.; 206.402.4515) now also offers vintage china table settings and vases for rent.
