Shoes with Hues
Ideas & Inspiration
The creative spirit of the Seattle bride is abundant this season, perhaps most evident in her footwear. Not only are we seeing lots of sparkly “Yes” and “I Do” messages scribed on the soles, but brides are also forgoing the customary white. “I wanted to tie my ensemble in with the bridesmaids’ colors, and shoes seemed like the obvious answer,” says Alice Burden, who wore purple Stuart Weitzman heels (pictured above) at her October 3, 2009, wedding to Simon Clarke at the Olympic Sculpture Park and the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Jenny Wetzel, who sported the striking pair of teal blue flats, says, “I thought it would be fun to go bold on my shoes, since I didn’t do any fancy bling elsewhere.” She and her husband, Kevin, celebrated at Sodo Park after taking vows at St. Joseph Catholic Church on December 18, 2009. “I was kind of worried people would think it was weird to wear blue flats,” Jenny says, “but I got tons of compliments.”
