Wedding Ceremony Pew Decor
Ideas & Inspiration
Amanda Darby loved the idea of using family wedding photos at her marriage to Brandon Smith. Inspired by weddings where family photos were displayed on the guest book table, Amanda wanted something chic with vintage appeal, but a bit unexpected, for the ceremony seating. Even more important, it was a way for the Green Lake couple to pay tribute to successful marriages of the past. With help from her mom, she painted wooden frames from Michaels an eye-popping red and filled them with black-and-white photos, labeling each frame with the pictured couple's relationship to the bride and groom; black-and-white checkered and paisley ribbons hung the frames from pews at Blessed Sacrament Church in the University District. "I remember seeing Brandon's cousin, whose mom died of breast cancer, wearing the wedding photo of his parents around his neck after the ceremony like it was a first-place medal," Amanda says. "It was beautiful."
