Winter Glam: A Glitzy Wedding Celebration At Swiftwater Cellars In The Cascade Mountains

Wildland firefighter Dillon Cook made a pact with his friends on the force that he wouldn’t get married in the summer—their busy season. Instead, he and bride-to-be Sivona Lingle planned a winter celebration at Swiftwater Cellars, which had been their meeting place for years while Dillon was working out of Ellensburg and Sivona was living in Seattle. The venue, in turn, proved the perfect middle ground for the couple’s vision for their day. “I wanted something formal, while he’d be happy getting married in the woods,” says Sivona. Red roses were accented with black and glittering gold, while rustic touches like pine cones and cranberries were included to “remind you [that] you weren’t in the city anymore,” adds the bride. For having photos taken in the snow, Sivona donned a vintage fur coat that had been a gift from her grandfather to her grandmother decades ago. For a personal touch to their ceremony, the couple tied a double fisherman’s knot, a common tool used in the fire service. The knot now hangs in a gold shadowbox in their home as a reminder of the day.
