A fusion of Indian and Occidental cultures, Megan Lund and Vijay Prakash’s wedding “blended romantic, modern Western elements with Indian-inspired patterns, [seen in] linens and lanterns to give it [an] Eastern feel,” says Erica Leigh of Leigh and Mitchell, who oversaw the florals and design for the event. “The bride wanted the wedding to feel modern, warm and romantic, with lush florals in blush, mauve, burgundy and creams.” Modern calligraphy, acrylic signage and other unique paper elements echoed the various Hindu aspects of the wedding ceremony; the couple was married under a mandap, a pillared wooden structure with traditional hanging florals as well as a floral arbor entrance for another garden element. Elephant table-number signs, a brightly colored escort seating display and a late-night pretzel cart continued the theme of East meets West, adding to the truly special celebration.
