My husband and I could go on forever about how INCREDIBLE it was to work with Blue Ribbon. They were with us every step of the way, bringing to life the most perfect, beautiful day of our lives. Their entire culinary and beverage team -- Vanessa, Adam, Melissa, the list goes on - were ABSOLUTEY ESSENTIAL to every unique and special detail of our big day.We know that our vision was no easy feat and the team continued to exceed our expectations by leaps and bounds. From the mouth-watering Paellas (beautifully presented in giant cast iron pots), to our HOT SAUCE bar, to our summer sangria and smoked-old fashioned specialty cocktails his & her drinks, where they actually LIT smoke boards on fire to make each drink (our guests LOVED the theater of it), to the beautiful tablescapes (there were these amazing glasses and "sunburst" plates), to the dessert station presentation...everything was perfectly executed. Blue Ribbon had an amazing creative, can-do attitude when it came to all of our extravagant ideas, AND had the ability made our ideas even BETTER with their own special touches while staying within our budget.
Not only is the team incredibly talented and the BEST to work with, they are also just GREAT people. My husband and I are truly so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work with Blue Ribbon. Blue Ribbon is the best bang for your buck you can find for wedding catering in Seattle. Not only are they affordable, but you will have far more autonomy with the menu. If there is a dish you want that is served at another restaurant in Seattle, they will literally seek the dish out and learn how to cook it for you! Furthermore, you will have the flexibility to mix in food and drink from other vendors - something you will NOT have if you work with a hotel or dedicated venue. In terms of execution for the big day, we could not be happier. Our planner was Melissa. She was attentive, communicative, and took care of us all day. We highly recommend her!
People are STILL talking about the food at our wedding! The stars of the show were the iron flank steak with fig sauce, blue cheese scalloped potatoes, and mac and cheese. They also had an amazing appetizer of chicken and waffles with brie - just mouth watering! Meanwhile, they let us order Chinese and Korean appetizers from outside vendors, while bringing in dessert from 6 different places.
If you're looking to not break the bank, but still get excellent service and product, I highly recommend Blue Ribbon! - Alf L.

After procrastinating somewhat and having trouble finding a venue that would work with all of our families’ schedules, we jumped at the chance of having the reception at the Blue Ribbon Culinary Center on Lake Union on a Saturday in the middle of the beautiful Seattle summer (thankfully before all of the smoke!). Winona was great in keeping us on task and on schedule (and helping us relieve the stress of planning things), and was always extremely responsive and accommodating. While it was a package deal that included an amount set aside for floral / decor, they allowed enough flexibility such that we could spend it where we cared about it more and still stay within our desired budget. As part of our wedding, Blue Ribbon set up and took down chairs for our ceremony at Gas Works Park, which was a wonderful wedding site for picturesque scenic photos we’ll never get tired of looking at. The reception at the Eastlake venue was precisely the type of low-key vibe we were going for, and provided for a nice, convenient, open environment where people could have a good time. The food was fantastic (3 months out, and we still get people mentioning how much they enjoyed the meal), and having Winona around to keep the flow of the reception going was a lifesaver, particularly for nuptial newbies like ourselves. In the end, everything went super smoothly thus letting us fully enjoy the day, but they also allowed and encouraged our personal touches such that the wedding felt unique to us and reflective of who we are as a couple. It turned a wedding for which the planning could have been a major source of stress into a pleasure, and we have Blue Ribbon to thank for that! - Kenneth M.
