I just had my wedding here at the end of February, and I have to say, it was even better than I ever could have possibly imagined. First and foremost, I want to give a huge shout-out to Kristen from Sodo who really helped see the entire event through, over the course of a year of planning.
As I could go on and on about how ridiculously amazing the entire experience was, I just want to highlight a few of the many aspects that will have you wishing that you could have your wedding here.
The Venue: exposed beams, dramatic ceilings, elegant lighting, an old vault for a coat closet, barn doors, indoor patio seating; the list goes on. The moment I stepped foot into Sodo Park, I knew that this was the place that we would get married in.
The Food: I can't imagine how difficult it is to cater for large weddings. There has to be some level of forgiveness given to a company that is serving a plated meal for 150 guests, as there is no way every item will go out perfectly. Well, it looks like Herban Feast managed to also win in this category, as the only thing I heard from guests was how this was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding EVER. Let me post this question to you: what other wedding have you been to where the steak wasn't overcooked into a piece of leather, and in fact, was cooked to a perfect, juicy medium? I would venture to say none. From the Sweet Potato Dungeness Crab Cakes to the Cedar-Planked Wild Salmon with Citrus-Arugula Aioli, everything was on culinary point from beginning to end.
The Service: Simply put, I felt taken care of the entire night in a completely unobtrusive manner. A simply-dressed wait staff was available to take care of all of our guests' needs, while remaining cool and composed the entire time.
Bravo to all of the staff at Sodo Park by Herban Feast that helped make our wedding day so memorable. I will look back on that day fondly for the rest of my life, as I am sure many of our guests will too. - Allyson, Bride
We just had our wedding last night 7.1.17, and we have loved working with everyone at SoDo Park from the beginning. Rosalyn was our venue coordinator, and she was incredibly helpful and responsive, willing to answer any of our questions and help with everything we needed. The venue was absolutely beautiful, the wait staff were wonderful, and our guests even commented on how nice they were, the food was delicious and we can't recommend them highly enough. We also went with their Herban Bloom and Design for flowers and décor, and they did such a beautiful job. Our flowers were so fresh, color combinations perfect and so well organized! - Kristy, Bride
We used Herban Feast for our February Wedding! They were WONDERFUL to work with! I had no worries. We did a custom menu including as much farm to table organic seasonal food as possible. We served mostly family style to encourage interaction amongst our guests, plus the ability to try numerous dishes. Also, we had a couple of people with food allergy issues, one of which required a very restricted menu. The team researched the FODMAP list I provided and served my bridesmaid a fabulous meal. It was one of the very few times she had eaten out all year that she didn't get sick! All the food was magnificent from the appetizers to the desserts and the servers were wonderful! One of the nicest wedding venues I've ever experienced. Sodo Park is a monstrous, 100+-year-old warehouse that was completely renovated in the mid-2000s to portray a chic old Western feel. I was struck by how versatile the space was -- they were easily able to close off the wings to create an intimate environment for the ceremony and then quickly transform the seating to tables of 8. Per the bride, the venue could comfortably serve weddings with 150-450 guests, and I believe it. There is a cozy upstairs area for the wedding party to chill before and after the ceremony, completely outfit with a kitchen, an area for professional photos, and a couch for the nervous groom. Ha! Outdoors, there was a little nook with heat lamps that was perfect for the groomsmen to briefly get away from the reception and smoke cigars. Excellent food and friendly service, and I can see why Sodo Park is consistently rated as one of the best places to get married in Seattle. - Mark, Guest
