Sarah Bavier & Alexander Miller
Married and celebrated: Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale
Date: September 3, 2016
THE COUPLE: When arts librarian Sarah Bavier first met pilot Alexander Miller, they were just freshmen in high school. After briefly dating toward the end of high school, they each went their separate ways, reconnecting as adults through a mutual friend.
ARTFULLY YOURS: Not being ones for the traditional, Sarah and Alexander planned an intimate wedding that was filled with art and aviation. Sarah walked down the aisle in a timeless Ann Taylor gown with a train she hand-painted herself. Shortly after the ceremony, she surprised Alex with a flyby, the plane towing a congratulatory banner—a very special moment for everyone. They carried the art theme into their seating arrangements with a canvas seating chart and miniature canvases and easels at each place setting. The couple opted out of the traditional cutting of the cake and instead kicked off dinner by slicing a pizza, which marked the opening of both the pizza and taco bars. After chowing down, guests then danced the night away on an open deck under the starlit sky.
