Seattle Bride Fall/Winter 2020

When Joanna Hawley and Sean McBride, both avid lovers of the outdoors, set about planning the ultimate Pacific Northwest celebration, they turned to the beauty of our great state, the bride’s Greek heritage and a best-loved locale as inspiration. The ceremony, which included 40 of the couple’s closest friends and family members, took place at 7,440 feet elevation, atop Slate Peak, a mountain summit located in the North Cascades that is one of the couple’s choice destinations for adventure. Lush, vibrant details inspired by nature abounded, among them a cascading bridal bouquet; custom posies for the couple’s canines; a color palette of rich blue and dusty rose; golden accents; and vintage elements. After the ceremony, the bride, groom and guests caravanned to the reception site, a Winthrop cabin with a view, reserved through Airbnb. There, the crowd celebrated with Greek food, ouzo, dessert and dancing, late into the night.
