Madison and Travis first met in their Kindergarten class in Los Angeles. After three years of attending school together, Madison noved to Washington. After losing touch, Madison and Travis reconnected on Facebook through a mutual friend when they both ended up in Seattle for college and have been together ever since!

When it came time to propose, Travis planned a trip to the Oregon Coast for Madisons 30th Birthday. After spending the day playing with their dog on the beach and watching the sunset, Travis proposed with his great-grandmothers stunning engagement ring. The engagement was so natural and perfect that it came as a huge surprise to Madison.

When it came time to start planning their wedding, Madison and Travis knew that they wanted something personal and relaxed, rather than upscale and traditional. After searching for venues, the Westland Distillery provided the perfect location for an intimate ceremony where they could share their special day with family and friends.

The communal element was most important to the couple. This was reflected in their semi-Jewish ceremony where their close friend married them surrounded by greenery, white, blush and wood.  Their friend used Madisons love of the arts and Travis's love of sports as metaphors for love and marriage. Friends and family laughed, clapped and cheered loudly throughout the ceremony and they had seven of their loved ones read versions of the seven blessings. They did not follow many of the typical wedding traditions, no wedding party, no bouquet or garter toss and no cake. However, they did write their own vows which Madison says was easily the most special moment of the ceremony.

Following their incredibly personal ceremony, guests were invited to a cocktail hour with whiskey tastings. Madisons family is known for their epic dinner parties that turn into dance parties which served as an inspiration for their wedding reception. The Westland Distillery provided the perfect location for an intimate, yet epic celebration. The communal element was again reflected by two long dinner tables where everyone passed food family style. They danced the night away to songs that they handpicked, a nod to Travis's love of music!
