The Love Boat: A Vintage Vessel Gets A New Life As A Cozy Venue On Lake Union

Trends

What happens when you pair a renowned event planner with a ’70s-era boat in need of a makeover? When the event planner is Kelley Moore and the boat is a 1977 Carver cabin cruiser called Kismet, the answer is magic. Moore, whose work as a lifestyle expert and event planner has landed her on shows like Ellen and The View, calls it “Seattle’s Love Boat,” and she’s transformed the vessel into a seafaring gathering space that’s perfect for engagements, elopements and other intimate events for as many as 16 people.

With a “Ralph Lauren goes glam” aesthetic, Seattle’s Love Boat is both tasteful and unique. Though the space is compact, it packs a punch when it comes to luxury. There’s a salon/living room, which is equipped with a bar and record player, as well as a full bathroom and a cozy triangular berth. The deck has a swim ladder, and the stern is a lovely spot to take in the view. Food choices aboard range from desserts and high-end picnic baskets to on-site cooking. Bookings are available beginning May 1. aboardthekismet.com
