Northwest native Lisa Maree Carrigg and Bogdan Antonijevic, who hails from Australia, met while volunteering in Peru, and their wedding was the first meeting for many of their loved ones. Because their first date had taken place during a full moon festival, their cake topper featured an image of the couple silhouetted against the moon. Other family touches included the bride incorporating a wristwatch, originally owned by her great-grandmother, into her wedding-day ensemble; Lisa’s mother and Bogdan’s best man officiating the ceremony; and Lisa’s brother’s band opening the reception.
To highlight all the Pacific Northwest has to offer out-of-town guests, Lisa and Bogdan did all they could to support local, female-owned businesses in every aspect of their wedding. From wedding invitations to hair and makeup to the cake, the couple found businesses they were proud to work with when creating their memorable day. To reflect their different backgrounds, the couple chose mismatched and brightly colored tableware from Vintage Ambiance, which visually popped in their venue’s natural setting. The arch they were married beneath was decorated with a handwoven tapestry from Bali, and the wedding party wore clothing from their own closets. These elements blended together to make a day full of meaning, for the couple and guests alike.
