Even though graphic designer and photographer Dorothy Huynh was already expecting a proposal, her beau, Aaron McCarty, was determined to make the moment a surprise. With the help of a mutual friend, Aaron decided to propose to Dorothy during a Saturday-morning jog when she would least expect it. While on her jog with a friend (all part of Aaron’s master plan), he tracked them down and asked the magical question with an engagement ring he made himself.

Dorothy and Aaron’s two-day celebration brought their nearest and dearest together to rejoice in their union. The Saturday before their wedding, they held a traditional Vietnamese event that featured a 10-course meal and the bride donning a traditional Vietnamese ao dais gown. Their Dairyland celebration included more than 200 guests, who wined and dined on irresistible catering from the Taqueria los Chilangos food truck. Family and friends loved the temporary tattoo station, and the couple’s passion for graphic design was channeled into the stunning DIY paper goods, which included and an eight-page newsletter program.
