Seattle Bride Fall/Winter 2020

With a focus on sustainability, Jessica Noble and Mio Monasch set about planning an epic island celebration for family and friends. Theirs was one of the first weddings to take place at Saltwater Farm at Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, and the couple incorporated reusable elements throughout. Paperless invitations, compostable dinnerware, rented and reusable florals, and a wine keg (in lieu of bottles) were just some of the environmentally friendly elements. Jess and Mio also made a point of patronizing local businesses, with many of their vendors based on the island. Appetizers, a grazing table, a do-it-yourself s’more station and dessert by Cakes by Felicitations sated guests, while Seattle-based Flying Mug Coffee served brews from its portable coffee stand all day and into the evening for the ultimate recharge.
