With guests flying in from all over, Samantha Lacy and Leinani “Ili” Wong celebrated their big day at a venue close to their hearts, Almquist Family Winery, where both are employed. Ili’s Hawaiian heritage was celebrated throughout the day with a beautiful ceremonial arch adorned with palm leaves and tropical blooms, colorful mismatched bouquets for the brides and bright table decor that featured citrus fruits displayed on sapphire blue table runners. The couple wore traditional maile leaf leis with pikake (jasmine) brought from Oahu by a family member, in perfect keeping with the lush, tropical theme.

The couple enlisted some of their closest friends from the Seattle food and drink community to serve guests a delicious meal and keep the wine flowing. Tropical flavors were showcased in the exceptional wedding cake from Bakery Nouveau, which was inspired by the neon pink guava chiffon cakes often found in Hawaiian bake shops. “We went with a naked cake with cream cheese frosting to cut down on the richness and to show off that awesome pink color,” says Samantha.
