Maggie and Frank's classic wedding celebration at The Admiral's House in Seattle has us dreaming of summertime. A beautiful cream-hued palette accented with stunning greenery set the scene for the affair and the natural beauty of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for the couple to say their "I do's."

From the bride:

"When Frank and I started out on our wedding planning journey, we weren’t exactly sure what we wanted but we knew how we wanted the day to feel – down-to-earth, sophisticated, simple, warm, and fun. That feeling helped guide each decision we made from the venue, to the food, to flowers, to booking a caricature artist for the reception.

Having only lived in Seattle for less than a year, we also wanted our out-of-town guests to enjoy a piece of the city we had grown to love so quickly. The Admiral’s House was perfect. Atop Magnolia Hill, overlooking Elliott Bay with both the city skyline and Mount Rainier in the backdrop, we couldn’t have imagined a better place to say “I do”. The house itself is also a nice nod to our East Coast roots with its Colonial style architecture. For the majority of guests, Seattle was a 4+ plane hour ride away. Looking back, this is what we’re most grateful for because getting to celebrate with all our loved ones truly made this day special for us.

Describe your wedding flowers: I knew I wanted bridesmaids in all white with simple greenery and white flowers to match. Our wedding planner and florist, Cozbi Jean, executed this vision perfectly! The flowing greenery in the bouquets and elsewhere with the simple white garden roses created a perfect down-to-earth yet elegant aesthetic.

Favorite detail of the day: One of my sisters, Caroline, has Down Syndrome and has grown very close to Frank over the years. They have a special bond. After the speeches, Frank and I decided to surprise Caroline by having the DJ call her and Frank to the dance floor to kick off the reception. When she heard her name, her face lit up with a larger-than-life grin, and she practically ran to join Frank to dance to one of her favorite songs, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. I will never ever forget that moment.

What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?: Stay true to who you are as individuals and as a couple. If you want donuts instead of a wedding cake, do it! If you want to have your 16 year-old dog be the ring bearer, do it! And don’t forget to have fun with the process. Take breaks and date nights as needed."
