When searching for a venue, Afton and Liam didn’t have to look far to find the perfect wedding-weekend spot: The couple honored the bride’s maternal side of the family with a vineyard wedding in Walla Walla, where Afton’s mother is originally from and which has been a dream location of the bride’s since childhood. After settling on the vineyards at Basel Cellars as their backdrop, the couple opted to create a garden-inspired destination wedding in shades of rich maroon, plush green, and hints of peach, blush and cream. Beyond décor, they focused on making it a weekend celebration during which guests could indulge. A welcome dinner for guests was given at Foundry Vineyards, kicking off the festivities with music, a taco truck, drinks and personalized welcome bags for guests to enjoy. For their big day, the couple incorporated a few personalized touches: A sign placed at the end of the aisle quoted lyrics from the song “A Bushel and a Peck,” in dedication to the bride’s grandmother, who often sang the song to her children and grandkids. Hand-painted table numbers were placed on each farm-style dining table, and each included a reference to a favorite city of the couple, along with a fun memory they shared from each place. For the grand getaway finale, the couple bid adieu to guests along a sparkler-lined path that led to a charming, vintage yellow convertible for a top-down send-off.
