The Bold and The Beautiful at Alderbrook Resort and Spa

Couples are afraid of color because they think it won’t work or look elegant. I wanted to show how beautiful and luxurious a bold palette can be.

Resting on the shores of Hood Canal, Alderbrook Resort & Spa is the quintessential Pacific Northwest destination. The luxury enclave rests on 88 tranquil acres that feature old-growth trees, streams, hiking trails and endless vistas of the Olympic Mountains, making it a dream wedding destination. “I love the atmosphere at Alderbrook,” says Doreen Fitzpatrick of Sassyfly Luxury Events. “It has a calm ambiance and beautiful nature, with a modern feel.” Verdant outdoor event spaces include the expansive Waterfront Lawn, the ballroom-adjacent Cottage Lawn and the intimate Courtyard Lawn. Inspired by the lushness of the Alderbrook’s surroundings, Sassyfly Luxury Events created a stylish forest-inspired design with a bright yet sophisticated color palette.

The Alderbrook’s elegant log-cabin-inspired facade is a striking backdrop to the colorful ceremony setting on the Cottage Lawn. Bright garden roses in orange, red and yellow are intertwined atop an abundant base of greenery and punctuated with a pop of purple from elegant phalaenopsis orchids. A waterfall of flowers cascades from the dinner table, creating a beautiful juxtaposition of color to the surrounding flora. The tabletop design reflects the textures of the forest. A dark wooden dining table is set with wood chargers layered with white china, delicate glass salad plates and a lovely salmon-hued dessert plate. Bright floral napkins accentuate the boldly hued blooms. Fitzpatrick said, "I love the feeling this design embodies. The bright colors bring out positive energy and happiness."
