Dusting Off the Glitter: Urban Unveiled 2019 Event Recap
As Bridal Fashion Week wound down in New York City, Seattle Bride celebrated a runway show closer to home. Luly Yang Couture's fashion show caps off Urban Unveiled each year, and this year top wedding vendors came together at the beautiful Fairmont Olympic to showcase the trends we'll see everywhere in 2020. The theme was "Midas Touch," and gold glittered from every corner of the event.
Brides and grooms who attended the event enjoyed passed champagne, with signature cocktails and appetizers available in the Garden Room. Wine from Julia's Dazzle and Nine Hats Winery flowed freely. Under the Fairmont's dazzling chandeliers, guests stopped by magnificient vendor booths, including a set of thrones from Weddings with Wendy, an ice sculpture from Creative Ice, and decadent tablescapes by CORT Party Rental and Rented Elegance & Design.
After stopping by 7 Salon's booth for a goodie bag and enjoying treats from Dianne's Delights, Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes and Blue Ribbon Cooking, the 321 Foto Booth was a welcome spot of entertainment. Seattle Bride Editor Megan Bartley and Associate Publisher Hailey Grace Brumley drew winners for a raffle prize drawing, where lucky couples won generous gifts from Roche Harbor Resort, Pleasant Beach Village, Luly Yang and more.
Eventually, Crimson Haze Event Lighting dimmed the room, and a beat from PSAV filled the space as the runway show began. Models stepped out one by one with makeup by Michael Bride. This year's collection played with conventional silhouettes by bringing in new textures and colors. The final look featured a showstopping feathered cape that garnered applause from every onlooker. Golden streamers burst forth during the models' final walk in celebration of a fantastic show.
This elaborate event was the product of some of the most talented wedding professionals in Seattle, and it was a treat to see them all come together to inspire next year's lucky couples. Hundreds of brides and grooms walked away from Urban Unveiled bursting with ideas to make the most of their wedding.
