Katie Mick and Eli Miller’s wedding unfolded as a beautiful, intentional and uniquely designed celebration at a family barn. With a guest list limited to 45 of their closest friends and family, the couple sought the creation of a day that diverged from the typical wedding timeline. A wedding photographer herself, Katie prioritized capturing precious moments during the most enchanting light of the day. The wedding began with a first look and portraits at a nearby Airbnb while guests gathered outside for a cocktail hour. In another unconventional choice, guests were then welcomed into the reception for dinner, where Katie and Eli greeted them. Inspired by Eli’s rural upbringing, the wedding design combined rustic elements and earthy tones with Katie’s love for elevated details, including calligraphed stationery, coupe cocktail glasses and enchanting string lights. Following dinner, Katie changed into a second look as guests were invited outside for the ceremony. The space featured wooden pews for seating and a minimalist ceremony arch accented with warmly colored florals. The backdrop, initially displayed in the reception, made a seamless transition to the ceremony to create a focal point for the exchange of vows amid the vast countryside. After the nuptials, guests enjoyed the celebration with dessert, toasts and dancing with a playful donning of white cowboy hats, which led to a lively dance. Two days after the wedding, Katie and Eli enjoyed a private portrait session. The emphasis on spending quality time with their guests and the innovative timeline allowed for a relaxed and joyous celebration.
