Having been born and raised in this region, Sara Boren and Corey Allen were well acquainted with various parts of the Pacific Northwest; with that knowledge, they felt certain that The Admiral’s House would be the perfect place to host a wedding. The couple has always loved sailing and had even become engaged on the water. For the bride and groom’s grand entrance, the two raised custom nautical flags spelling out their last name in a majestic preamble to the ceremony. Two flower girls presented a double dose of sweetness, and the endearing moments didn’t stop there: The couple’s Bernese mountain dog, Walter, was also part of the big day, sporting his own floral garland. Guests even enjoyed monogrammed pup cakes designed with Walter in mind as party favors at this canine-friendly fete. The bride paid homage to her sorority, Alpha Phi, with ivy and lily of the valley incorporated into her sorority sisters’ bouquets. The couple’s first dance featured a spellbinding light show over Elliott Bay, which culminated in the lights going out during the last verse of the song, eliciting a standing ovation and kicking off the rest of the celebration with dancing and merriment.
