Pretty Pastels: A Classic Wedding at Inglewood Golf Club

Real Wedding

The soft colors of this stunning Inglewood Golf Club wedding had us at first glance. Every detail so effortlessly flows into the next, maintainly a sense of elegant simplicity. Although the guest list was lengthy, you get the feeling that each and every attendee was warmly welcomed. One thing that truly stuck out about this wedding was the bride and groom's effort to make their special day not only about them, but about their families, which is why they thwarted tradition and chose to sit with their parents and the bride's grandmother during dinner. This dinner proved unimaginably meaningful, as it was unknowingly the last dinner they would have with the groom's father. Read on for the bride's heartfelt advice on doing things your own way.

From the bride:

"They say the day is about the bride, or all about the couple getting married, but we truly felt like it was much more than that. Our wedding day was about joining two families and surrounding ourselves with lifelong friends. We included all of our siblings in the wedding party, which made it so special. More importantly, instead of eating dinner with our bridal party, we decided to sit with both our parents and my grandmother. We are sad to say that this was our last dinner with Pat's father, as he suddenly passed the following morning. We look back and realize that this was the best decision we had ever made, and are forever grateful that we went with our hearts and not with the trends or traditions.

The biggest advice I can give to future brides is that there is absolutely no right or wrong way to do a wedding. Read the blogs, grab the magazines, listen to those who have done it and take it all in, but then take a step back and decide what is meaningful to you as a couple and make it your own."
